The short answer: Scalable.so is cheaper to start, at $59 a month. But it gets costly once you add more products, because each new product uses 500 credits before you make a single image. ListingOptimization.ai counts products (ASINs) instead of credits, so adding a product is free. It also shows you how your images look in search results and how they perform after launch, which Scalable does not. If you need translations or creative for Walmart and Meta, Scalable is the better choice, and I explain why below.
I built ListingOptimization.ai, so I am biased. Read this the way you would read any founder writing about his own product. Every number here comes from a page you can check yourself.
Scalable deserves credit, so let me start there.
It uses your reviews and competitor data to write Amazon listings, A+ content and ads. It can read up to 500 reviews per product and shows you where each claim came from, so you know why it thinks customers care about something. That is a useful feature, and more tools should have it.
You can save your brand fonts, colours, mood boards and tone of voice in a brand kit, and the tool uses them in everything it creates. It handles product variations and can send content to Amazon, Shopify, Walmart, Meta and TikTok. It can also translate full listings, images included, into English, German, Spanish, Italian and Polish.
| Plan | Price | Users | Products |
| Free | $0 | 1 | 1 |
| Editor | $59/month | 1 | Unlimited |
| Studio | $199/month | 3 | Unlimited |
| Scale | $599/month | 5 | Unlimited |
The free plan gives you 300 credits once. They last 90 days and do not refill. On paid plans, unused credits carry over for one extra month. Extra credits you buy never expire.
Remember the words “unlimited products.” They matter in the next section.
The real cost of Scalable is in its credit table.
That last one decides your bill. Just adding a product to the tool costs 500 credits, before you create anything. That is the same as about 42 images at 4K, spent only on getting started.
So yes, you can add unlimited products. You just pay for each one.
Scalable’s FAQ says that if you need more than 17,500 credits a month, you have to contact their sales team. That means the most you can get without a custom deal is 17,500 credits on the $599 Scale plan.
Adding 50 products at 500 credits each costs 25,000 credits. That is 7,500 credits more than their biggest plan gives you in a month. On $599 a month, you cannot even add 50 products in one month, let alone create images for them.
Try a smaller example. Add 20 products and you have spent 10,000 credits, leaving 7,500. At 4K, that gets you 625 images, or about 31 per product. Make two A+ pages at 200 credits each and you have even less.
Scalable does not hide any of this. It is all on their pricing page. It is just spread across two tables, and most people never do the maths.
Scalable does not say how many credits come with the Editor or Studio plans. The prices are listed, but the credits are not. So you cannot work out your cost per listing until after you pay.
We count products and images. You do not have to convert credits in your head.
| Plan | Price | Products (ASINs) | Images |
| Free | $0 | 1 | 15 |
| Standard | $97/month | 10 | 400 |
| Pro Agency | $497/month | 50 | 3,000 |
Standard includes full listing images, A+ content, A/B testing, click-through rate optimisation, performance insights, API access and up to 5 users. Pro Agency adds 20 users, white label, custom solutions and a dedicated account manager.
Adding a product is free. Standard gives you 40 images per product (400 across 10). Pro Agency gives you 60 per product (3,000 across 50).
Scalable Scale, $599 a month: 17,500 credits. Adding 50 products needs 25,000 credits, so you cannot do 50 products in one month.
ListingOptimization.ai Pro Agency, $497 a month: 50 products and 3,000 images, with no charge for adding products.
It costs less, and it can handle 50 products.
This is the fairest way to compare, because images are what you are really paying for.
The Scalable figure is generous to them because it leaves out the cost of adding products. Even so, we are about two to two and a half times cheaper per image.
Making images is the easy part now. Both tools make good images in minutes. If someone tells you their AI draws better, they are trying to sell you something.
The hard part is knowing whether an image will actually work.
You have probably been here. You make seven images. They look great inside the tool, on a white background, at full size. You upload them and wait three weeks. Sales go up a little, or they don’t, and you cannot tell if it was the image, the season, or a competitor running out of stock.
So you guess again.
That cycle takes three to four weeks. Making the image takes two minutes. Saving time on those two minutes does not help much. Making fewer wrong guesses helps a lot.
SERP simulation shows your main image at thumbnail size in search results, next to the competitors you are losing sales to, before you publish. About half the main images I review look poor at 180 pixels. It is better to see that on your screen now than in your sales numbers a month later.
These show you which image won and by how much. Your next round starts from real results instead of guesses.
This designs your main image to get the click, which is the main image’s only job.
Scalable gives you several main image ideas you can A/B test. That covers creating images. It does not show you how they look in search results before launch or tell you which one performed better afterwards.

I promised to be honest, so here it is.
Scalable can translate a full listing, images included, into German, Spanish, Italian and Polish. We cannot. If you are launching in several EU marketplaces, that feature alone may be worth paying for.
Creating content for Walmart, Meta, TikTok and Shopify from one tool is useful. We chose to focus only on Amazon, and that may not suit you.
The 500 credit fee only hurts when you add products. If you sell 8 products and that won’t change, the $59 Editor plan costs less than any of our paid plans.
300 credits is more than our 15 images. Their free trial is more generous, and I won’t pretend otherwise.
You pay for the click either way.
On Amazon, you pay each time a shopper clicks your ad, not each time they see it. Once they click, that money is spent. What happens in the next few seconds on your listing is what counts.
So the real question is not which tool makes nicer images. Both make good ones. The real question is which tool lets you test enough versions to find the one that sells, without charging 500 credits every time you add a product, and which one tells you what actually worked.
The free plan covers one product and does not need a credit card. Add your weakest product and check the SERP simulation first. You may be surprised by how your main image looks at thumbnail size.
Pricing checked on 1 October 2026. Both companies change their plans from time to time, so check their pricing pages before you decide.
